I just got forwarded this video of DJ Tiesto In Concert. It blew me away how many people come out to see DJs now!
When I started out the DJ was just the nerdy kid in the dark corner of the room that loved the music. We did it because we loved DJing and making music. Now DJs are packing stadiums that even the biggest rock bands in the world can’t fill.
If you’re anything like me, you’ve probably heard about the Island of Ibiza off the coast of Spain. For those of you that don’t know about it, it is the clubbing hot spot and DJing mecca of the world. Nighclubs and bars stay open 24 hours a day and all summer party goers fly in from every area of the world. I’ve been there and it is EVERYTHING DJs make it out to be.
The DJ booths that are loaded with the best DJ gear imaginable (8 dj turntables, 5 CDJs, rotary mixers etc) and look out over dance floors of thousands of beautiful clubbers. People go specifically to see the DJs so its a full on party! Half of the dance floor knows knows how to DJ mix and are crazy about the music!
In this video, DJ Erick Morillo rocks Pacha Ibiza. There are some crazy shots from the DJ Booth. Shots like this inspire me to help DJs like you get to DJ booths in places like Ibiza! Read the rest of this entry »

Here we have an AWESOME video of a few European DJs, Ricardo Villalobos, Luciano, and Loco Dice DJing on the top of a mountain 2300m above the sea in Crans-Montana Switzerland. Some skydivers and parachutes go flying over the party while the DJs are mixing. Crazy stuff!
This is the beauty of being a DJ, there are wicked parties everywhere that need good music; from the beaches to the tops of the highest mountains!
Hopefully one day soon you’ll be able to play parties like this too!
Steve Angello humiliates Paris Hilton, DJs worldwide rejoice
The princess of bottle service culture herself, Ms. famous-for-no-particular-reason, Paris Hilton, was publicly humiliated by Swedish House Mafia man Steve Angello [a] in move that will leave DJs around the world cheering his name till the end of time.
The LA-based diva turned up at the 1OAK party at Angello’s showcase at WMC on Thursday night/Friday morning, and found his music “was not even danceable and was frankly giving me a migraine.” Read the rest of this entry »
Sometime I laugh because DJs like this were just a few years ago, learning their way around a mixer and turntables in their parent’s basements, reading How To guides on everything from mixers, recording their mixes, digital vs analog production, different pieces of DJ and audio production (while playing video games in between). Now they are some of the worlds biggest rockstars, djing all over the world and spending their days recording audio tracks in the studio!
Anthony from Audiofly shows you around the Viva Tour Bus that is ripping across North America for their latest tour. Beatport took this video and I am stoked to show it to you!
If this doesn’t make you want to Become a DJ I don’t know what will! Imagine driving across the USA with your pro Dj and producer friends, all of your dj equipment and producing gear and software along for the ride with you!
In the interview he talks about his brand new mix compilation CD called ‘Strictly Erick Morillo’ but it also gives some great insight into the rockstar lives that big DJs live.
Morillo discusses how he got his DJ career started, his thoughts on DJing, and his love for Strictly Rhythm records, all while chilling in James Bond attire. He also mentions his private jet and his houses all over the world…
He is one of the most knowledgeable DJs around, having played for 17 years on the pro international circuit. He’s played in every country imaginable and is known for being an awesome DJ first and producer second.
