Hi mate my name is kyle shaun harris 32yr old maori boy from new zealand and iv had the name izm when i was growing up(that was my tag name)yep i was in to tagging and all that shit back when i was young.iv been mixing and doing mixs CD’s for about 5 to 6 years im on youtube but had to put djmadizm there was a dj somewere out there and he had djizm as his hire dj he does birthdays and so no..my family call me smiles and some times styles.becouse i got a big smile and iv got style..i aks my frends and family no facebook for a dj name for me and most of them z djizm becouse thats origil..but now i wot to get into doing partys iv got 1 stanton st.150 turntable an 1 stanton m.207 mexer and mixvibes u46mk2 soundcard and vinly hooked up to my lappy running on vdjpro7..i need a bit of help on the config settings when i scratch there a delay…can you help…cheers bro Djizm

@Chris Bourne : I’d definitely go with your actual name (out of that list at least)… Fortunately, you already have a nice powerful sounding last name (think Bourne legacy movies and so on). Personally, I chose to keep my first name, but change the second name to something that rolls off the tongue a little better than my actual multi-syllable last name, but tried to stay relatively close to my actual name.

Hey I’ve asked my family and friends about a good DJ name and these are the ones they suggested maybe you guys could help me to find out which one is best:

-Chris Bourne (Real Name)
-Von Bourne
-Major C
-Major CB
-Tackrine

I read that if you want to be a serious dj for a lifetime (which i do), you should use your real name instead of needing to use a stupid one you chose when u were thirteen..
I think this is a very good point but I’m still not sure..

I agree so much with what the writter says, use your own name. There is nothing that will stay in fashion longer than your name.

Hello FAM,

In same dilemma here been a DJ since 2000 but really dont hav a name i use. Was thinkin of a brand since i play nothing but Oldskool joints 1980 to 1999. I also dont like the DJ at the front of the name so am goin crazy tryin to get a label for myself

I have been using DJ Paulie since the beginning of my DJ Career. It’s nice to hear other Professionals like yourselves telling young DJ’s to drop the Word DJ in their name. I have stopped countless DJ’s using my Trademark name in one form or another. Be Original, Be Creative Don’t be known as a Copycat…No One will ever take you as a Serious DJ. I like to hear from you on what name you have chosen.

I’m a young guy from the east coast and I wanted to know if there was any pre-dj tips. Because I don’t have much money and I don’t even know where to start. I’m young like I said and I’d love to be able to dj and progress through my school years, I’ve been thinking about starting for a long time I just haven’t known where to start like I said. I know it will take time but I have the motivation and the actual time to progress so why not seize the moment. I don’t know what else to do besides ask you since I live in a small town and don’t know any real DJ’s. Even directing me to one of your beginner videos would be useful. If you could reply with any feedback or insight I’d greatly appreciate it.
