Unfortunately Most DJs will never get to live their
dream.
I was headed down the same path 99% of DJs are. I started out just like you… I was hopeful.
I went online to message forums to learn how to mix. Everyone on there said things like "Real DJs teach themselves!" and "Its going to take atleast a year to learn to beatmatch...".
Based on this advice I spent over a year tearching myself to mix without much success (I got so frustrated that I actually threw my mixer out of my window onto my parents concrete deck below!).
All I wanted to do is play for my friends but I wasn't making any progress with my mixing because I listened to Djs on the message forums saying "Don't use DVDs, Audio Clips or Books......just learn yourself".
A lot of DJs will try to teach themselves. I repect you if you have been trying to teach yourself but it will take years to master it this way. This is why a lot of new Djs get frustrated and give up.
There are simple, low priced packages out there that will teach Djs how to quickly mix like a pro... but what do most of them do about it?
Nothing.
They don’t actively search for information to help them learn the basics and then get big gigs. Once you know how to mix well, getting gigs is easy. Mixing too can be easy if you use practices and secret techniques from DJs that are already where you want to be!
The sad truth is that most DJs will give up because they can’t get the big gigs they desire. They can’t get the big gigs because don’t have the right information….
Don't settle for letting your decks collect dust in the bedroom while other DJs get all of the big gigs, the women, the money and the glory.
