A friend of mine and I love to have deep discussions. During our last sit down she was asking me about the future of DJing and the DJ industry. Once I had given my 2 cents she then told me what she thinks.
She believes that DJs will one day become extinct. She explained that DJ robots will eventually be able to take the job of a DJ a save nightclub and different venue owners a lot of money on DJ gigs. And she has a point. There are tons of companies popping up offering “Musical Branding” services to remove the DJ from the venue and replace it with a robot that is programmed to play a good song at the right time.
Will this technology or the companies that are selling it become the demise of the DJ? Will it kill the DJing industry once and for all?

DJ competitions are one of the best opportunities you have to be discovered as a DJ. If you haven’t entered a DJ competition before sit down because this opportunity will blow your DJ mind. And to be honest its not an easy thing to be able to tell which song is going faster and if the song you’re listening to in your headphones is faster or slower than the track playing out loud in your dj mix.

Ironically the best DJ booth to play in the world doesn’t exist except for 7 days of the year somewhere in the Black Rock Desered in the South of Nevada. And the funny thing is that it isn’t just one DJ booth, there are like 30 amazing DJ booths with packed dancefloors for 7 days straight!
This paradise is known as Burning Man and its one of the craziest parties in the world. 50,000 people drive, walk and even skydive into the middle of one of the dryest deserts in the world to camp for 7 days over September long week. MOS got it right with their new line of headphones that look sexier than any other pair of DJ Headphones I’ve seen before. The polished metal earphones and the thin single piece metal headband make the pair shine and are super attention grabbing.
The best news is that the new DJ headphones from Ministry Of Sound might look pretty flash but they also pack some funk as well! After the sales (but not sound) success of the Beats Headphones by Dr. Dre I figured these MOS005s had also been designed for fashion over DJ function with mediocre sound and durability. Boy was I wrong!
